The booth

The lighting booth sits on the second floor, behind the last row of seats, house left. Rehang and refocus the house lighting package for your show. Your company brings its own crew and runs its own lights.

For producers

Your spaces: The main stage, house and risers on the second floor. Downstairs, the Green Room and workshop, the scenic shop and three dressing rooms. Up front, the lobby, box office and production office.
Load-in: Through the east doors and up the east staircase.
Hours: The building is open from 8 AM to midnight.
Crew: Bring your own crew and technical direction. There’s no technical staff on site.
Sundays: St. Clement’s worships on the main stage on some Sundays, until 1 PM. We tell you at least a week ahead, and your company leaves a lighting cue for worship.
Signs: An outdoor light box (33 by 22 inches), a sidewalk rail (108 by 36 inches) and an indoor theater board (69 by 45 inches).
Cleaning: We keep up the building. For daily cleaning while you’re in residence, bring your own cleaner.
Sound: A house sound system you can connect your own gear to, and guest Wi-Fi.

Where The American
Place Theatre began.

In 1963, Wynn Handman, Michael Tolan and the Rev. Sidney Lanier founded The American Place Theatre here at St. Clement’s. The company stayed until 1971, when it moved down West 46th Street.
